United Way in Action
MONTICELLO — The Kiwanis Club of Monticello and its sponsored service leadership clubs have once again been busy spreading the holiday spirit in the community by participating in many activities.
Members of the Kiwanis Club brought games and toys to their holiday dinner that will be distributed to local families in need by the United Way of Sullivan County.
The RJK Middle School Builders Club participated in the School’s Holiday Care Project. They traveled to Walmart and purchased toys, games and clothing for students in their school district. They used funds collected from the Valentine Day Dance that they host each year.
The Monticello High School Key Club continued their annual tradition of assisting the Salvation Army in brightening the holiday season by ringing the bell and collecting money in front of Walmart to help out local families who can use some assistance.
The Aktion Club of Sullivan County (comprised of individuals from SullivanARC, Center for Discovery and New Hope Community) traveled to Liberty to entertain the residents of Achieve Nursing and Rehab Center. They sang holiday songs and distributed greeting cards that they had made.
